SAMINAH

Saminah is a drag and drop game exploring the tensions between public and personal archives through fiction and non-fiction narrative. As an assistant archivist, the player is tasked with uploading information into the public database about a Javanese contract labourer who migrated from Java to Suriname in the early 20th century, among thousands of others, to fill in a labour shortage after the legal end of slavery in 1863.
